Learning has progressed over time. Before we used to think learning was limited to staying in the library. I used to sit for hours in the library just for studying. I was just an average student at that time and it was really fun to study with just books. But as time has changed so should we.
Now learning has moved to be digital. We are heavily relying on our tablets and computers to be the source of our learning.
Hence comes my iPad Air 4. I had previously used an iPad 9.7 which worked well for me but last year I upgraded to an iPad Air 4. Compared to the iPad Pro which had the M1 chip it isnt as fast. However, for an average user, the A14 bionic chip is just as fast.
For an average user like myself. I use it for checking my emails, writing my blog, studying, and for watching media mainly on Netflix.
I can safely say this fits all my needs.
Now the question comes why not purchase iPad Pro vs iPad Air 4 vs iPad Air 5?
Good question. One reason was the budget. When I purchased my iPad Air 4. I had to also purchase an Apple Pencil 2nd generation as well. I also wanted to purchase 256 GB so I have a good amount of storage for using it for the next 3-4 years. Compared to the 64 GB base model which won't be enough for pretty much anything.
It sounded a better deal. Assuming today you have the budget and an option to buy between iPad Air 4 and Air 5. I would say buy the Air 5. The reason being the M1 Chip might be really good to use. Considering the news that the iPad will soon have a MacOs kind of feature similar to the Samsung Dex, or at least this is the rumor (I hope it is true).
Now the second question. Would I upgrade my iPad Air 4 for an iPad Air 5? Probably not!
I would rather wait for either a newer device instead. Cause Frankly speaking for me an iPad Air 4 is doing all the jobs that I think are necessary to me.
Let me tell you probably the most important feature. Studying on the iPad.
Let me be honest. I am a paper person. Hence the first thing I did was to get a paper-like screen protector.
Combine this with an Apple Pencil, and you have the feeling of scribbling on a book or paper.
You can achieve the same thing with Ipad Pro, if you have the money for it then by all means. I am not sure if it would add a great deal to your learning needs as an average user. However, if you are a professional artist or have an interest in things more than the average user then I would definitely recommend it.
I will post pictures of my setup with this article.
